There are many things you can do after a workout to promote quick recovery. From staying hydrated, resting, eating the right diet, and doing stretch exercises it’s vital to keep your muscles in good shape so that you can go back to the next workout much sooner.

Despite this, most of these options may not generate the much-needed results quickly and hence the need for an effective remedy. Perhaps you’ve heard about the use of CBD supplements after a workout. However, you may be worried that it can make you high. However, there’s more than meets the eye as we shall find out in this discussion.

Here is how to recover from your workout with CBD.

Is CBD legal?

CBD for exercise is useful regardless of your fitness goals. However, most people are apprehensive because of the fear that CBD may trigger psychoactive reactions. Before we dig deeper into the benefits of CBD, it’s important to address the legality issue.

The Farm Bill of 2018 is clear on the issue of legality. It states a hemp product with less than or equal to 0.3% Delta 9 THC, is legal. Even though the laws may differ from one state to another CBD products are widely accepted in over 50 states.

Research on CBD and Exercise

Research on the scientific usefulness of CBD is still in the early stages; however, the benefits are purely on an individual’s experiences. The brain has receptors whose role is to coordinate activities between the brain and other body parts. We even know that exercise increases levels of your own natural marijuana-like compounds, called endocannabinoids.

Typically, CBD boosts these endocannabinoids, and they bind to cannabinoid receptors and regulates the internal system. When your system goes off-balance, CBD can help bring it back on track.

Precisely, CBD can help minimize inflammation that occurs after an intense workout thereby decreasing your recovery time. In addition, it can heal nerve and joint pain thereby promoting healing.

What Happens To Muscles During A Workout?

During a workout, you may push your body to extreme limits which can cause microscopic tears on your muscles. Consequently, you may develop sore muscles after a workout and extreme sports can lead to strains and ruptures. It’s vital to have the right balance so that your body can fully recover from such extremes.

CBD Products

CBD products can help to relieve soreness and inflammation when you rub on the muscles or take them orally. The Green Dragon CBD has a host of full-spectrum, broad-spectrum, and Isolate CBD products that you can incorporate into your workout regimen.

Most full-spectrum CBD oil products contain terpenes, THC, and flavonoids as well as CBD. With these products, the compounds work in combination to deliver powerful reactions as compared to the CBD or broad-spectrum options.

Full-spectrum CBD products have some traces of Delta-9 THC; however, they are still within the legal ceiling of 0.3%. They are relatively milder and will not cause significant psychoactive reactions; nonetheless, they may produce a positive drug test result.

If you are a professional athlete, broad-spectrum and CBD Isolate are excellent choices because they won’t reveal positive results on a drug test. Most broad-spectrum CBD products don’t have any THC but are effective in reducing soreness or inflammation.

Examples of CBD Products

CBD products are available in different forms and dosages. Therefore, this provides you with a broad category to choose your preferred product.

CBD creams are mainly for relieving pain on your joints, muscles, or nerves.  In addition, ointments are skin-based products while gels and rubs work best on your muscles.

When getting started, it can be challenging deciding on what you need, however, you can start with small dosages and increase over time.

Luckily, the majority of CBD product containers feature a label detailing the ounces or milligrams and composition of the ingredients. Therefore, this can help you in deciding the right amount.

Examples of CBD topicals for workout include;

  • Nourishing creams that are gentle on your skin thanks to the Manuka honey ingredients.
  • CBD-infused ointment for soothing and moisturizing your skin.
  • CBD oils with scent from lavender.
  • Pain-relieving creams with menthol to deliver instant coolness or heat to the skin.
  • Rubs, balms, and salves infused with CBD and essential oils such as peppermint or lavender to promote muscle recovery. These too soothe and revitalize your muscle for quick recovery.
  • CBD infused cacao butter and shea butter to nourish and moisturize your skin.
  • CBD infused products with pain-relieving properties.
  • Muscle gets infused with CBD to fight off inflammation.
  • Face serums to restore youthful appeal.
  • Massage oils that penetrate deep into your muscles.

On the same note, CBD products are also suitable for relieving pain due to underlying conditions such as arthritis and sciatica.

Other Ways To Use CBD Oil

Besides ointments and oils, other CBD products work effectively on your body. An example is edibles which come in the form of gummies, chocolates, candies, and fruity tarts.

In addition, CBD-infused capsules and CBD coffee will deliver the right dosage to ensure quick workout recovery.

Some products such as tinctures work best when you add to your food or favorite drink. On the flip side, this may not deliver the best results quickly.

Vaping products are harsh and not recommended for athletes. However, if you are not a professional, you can try vaping juice to promote calming and relaxation.

CBD Application

Even though these products are highly recommended for post-workout, you can also incorporate them into your everyday routine. For instance, apply the products every day in the morning and evening. To avoid wastage, you can apply the products to the affected areas.

Workout Recovery

The road to recovery is different for everybody because it depends on one’s skin and body. Before you choose a product, it’s vital to understand your body needs and in particular the skin. For example, if you have dry skin, you can pick a product that will help you stay hydrated.

Conclusion

CBD for workout is not only useful for your pre-workout routine but also to fast-track your recovery. The products come in different flavors, aromas, and potency levels. Most importantly, you’ll enjoy each moment of your workout when you incorporate CBD into your routine.

Happy International Women's Day to all the women c Happy International Women's Day to all the women crushing it despite getting less pay, less startup funding, less everything when it comes to business. Let's do more than recognize women.
In 2023, it's time to:
*Buy from women-owned businesses
*Give women a seat at the table, preferably the board
*End all male speaking panels
*Invest in women startups, including those focused on serving women
*Include more women in clinical trials
*End toxic work cultures
*Support paid maternity leave policies
*Fill the wage gap between men and women
*Donate to nonprofits serving women
*Let women take time off of work for painful periods without stigma or penalty
*Work harder to specifically include and apply all of these principles to women from marginalized groups such as black women, disabled women, LGBTQ women, and females identifying as nonbinary, genderfluid, or genderqueer.
And so. much. more.
